Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed on Thursday a decree awarding President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon with "Bitaraplyk" order, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reported.
Rahmon was awarded with this Order for a significant contribution to the development of bilateral economic, cultural and scientific cooperation between Turkmenistan and Tajikistan, to affirmation of the status of permanent neutrality of independent Turkmenistan, as well as taking into account the "great personal contribution to the strengthening of friendly and brotherly relations between the Turkmen and Tajik peoples."
The presentation of the award was held in Ashgabat as part of Rahmon's official visit to Turkmenistan.
