The appropriate commission has not estimated the total damage caused to Tbilisi in connection with the recent flood, but presumably it will hit several million lari ($1 = 1.64 lari).
"We are still calculating the damage caused to Tbilisi by the natural disaster," head of the municipal service Giorgi Kochiashvili said. "But, according to the preliminary estimates, it will amount to several million lari."
Regarding the situation in the capital at the moment, the work on pumping water from flooded houses has been completed. At present, the streets are being cleaned from mud and litter, he said.
"Traffic is free in all directions and everything will be improved in Tbilisi by the end of the day or until tomorrow morning," Kochiashvili said.
