Two people were shot at a California high school Thursday less than a month after 20 schoolchildren and six teachers were killed in Connecticut in one of the worst school shootings in US history, dpa reported.
The shooting took place at 9 a.m. at the Taft Union High School in Kern County, some 190 kilometres north of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Times reported.
There was no information on the condition of the two people shot. The report said the shooter had been taken in to custody and the school evacuated.
The school was shut down and parents were picking up their students at an athletic field, according to the local television reports.
