A large sports arena Luzhniki, Moscow's largest stadium, burst into flame Oct. 5 afternoon, a source in Moscow's emergency services told RIA Novosti.
"The fire brigades are on the scene," a statement said.
A representative of the state administration of the ministry of emergency situations in Moscow has confirmed the information about the fire.
"The rescuers began working," he said.
The eyewitnesses said that thick clouds of black smoke are seen above the arena.
