Bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Ukraine are developing very successfully and rapidly. There is a very high level of political cooperation, President Aliyev said in an interview with the Ukrainian mass media on the eve of his official visit to Ukraine.
"Our countries have cooperated very closely for many years, almost immediately after gaining independence. Bilateral ties are expanded in economic sphere. There are very good prospects. Ukraine is a very close and friendly country for us," President Aliyev said.
"My visit will play an important role given these traditions," Den newspaper quoted President Aliyev as saying.
Azerbaijani President expressed confidence that during the visit, both sides once again will consider the agenda of bilateral relations and determine the ways to further develop ties. "Of course, the issues of economic cooperation, particularly in post-crisis period, are of a great importance. We can actively complement each other and support by using the potentials of the two countries. Our economies cannot compete with each other. I expect that the course for active cooperation between our two countries will be confirmed on bilateral and regional levels, including cooperation in international organizations," President Aliyev said.
