BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 23. The 7th convocation of the Azerbaijani Parliament has revealed the names of committee heads, Trend reports.
According to the information, Chairperson Sahiba Gafarova read the names of the deputies nominated for the positions during Monday’s session.
The nominations were put to a vote and approved.
MP Ali Huseynli was elected as the Chairman of the Committee on Legal Policy and State Building, Zakhid Oruj - chairman of the Human Rights Committee, Sadig Gurbanov - chairman of the Natural Resources, Energy and Ecology Committee, Azer Amiraslanov - chairman of the Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship Committee, Tair Rzayev - chairman of the Agrarian Policy Committee, Musa Guliyev - chairman of the Labor and Social Policy Committee, Siyavush Novruzov - chairman of the Regional Issues Committee, Anar Iskenderov - chairman of the Science and Education Committee, Polad Bulbuloglu - chairman of the Culture Committee, Samad Seyidov - chairman of the International Relations and Interparliamentary Relations Committee, Akhliman Amiraslanov - chairman of the Healthcare Committee, Hijran Huseynova - chairman of the Family, Women and Children Affairs Committee, Shahin Ismailov - chairman of the Youth and Sports Committee, Fazil Mustafa - chairman of the Public Associations and Religious Organizations Committee.
Following the elections of committee chairs, the deputies were also confirmed.
This marks the conclusion of the first session of the 7th convocation of the Azerbaijani Parliament.
The snap parliamentary election was held in Azerbaijan on September 1.
A total of 112,749 local observers were registered to monitor the election. More than 65,000 of them were representatives of political parties. The number of registered international observers was 598 people, representing 51 organizations in 69 countries.
Out of 990 registered candidates in the parliamentary election, 305 were representatives of 25 political parties. Although 371 candidates are members of political parties, they were not nominated by the parties to which they belong. In total, 676 candidates had political party affiliation.
On September 21, the Constitutional Court approved the election results.

Thus, Azer Amiraslanov was elected chairman of the Committee on Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship, Ali Huseynli - chairman of the Committee on Legal Policy and State Construction, and Anar Iskandarov - chairman of the Committee on Science and Education.
