BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 10. Eleven automatic hydrological stations have been established and operational on ten rivers in order to evaluate the surface water resources, four radioecological stations, three agrometeorological stations, and five automatic meteorological stations have been set up to examine the hydrometeorological conditions in Azerbaijan's liberated territories, the Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Vugar Karimov said, Trend reports.
He noted that new green areas of 55 ha have been laid on the territory of the Zangilan district, 11 ha in the Aghdam district, and 20 ha in the Jabrayil district.
“Currently, works are underway to prepare the soil for planting new green plantings on the territory of Jebrail district - on an area of 30 ha and on the territory of Fuzuli district - on 16.7 ha. Works in this direction are planned to be implemented by the end of this year.
Following the dynamics of clearing mines and unexploded ordnance from the forest fund, sowing work was carried out on 26 ha in the Jabrayil district, 42 ha in the Zangilan district, and two ha in the Fuzuli district.
However, in accordance with the reforestation projects in the territories liberated from the occupation, preparatory work has been completed on 85 ha in the Zangilan district, 35 ha in the Gubadli district, and 45 ha in the Jabrayil district, and it is planned to carry out sowing work in these territories before the end of the year.
The forest areas in Zangilan, Fuzuli, Jabrayil, Gubadli, and Kalbajar districts have been identified by remote sensing; a sample survey of these areas has been carried out, and planned cartographic materials have been drawn up with the study of the taxation elements of these forests (tree species, number of trees, etc.).
At the moment, the relevant work on inventory of forest areas in Shusha and Khojaly districts is being carried out,” he noted.
