Georgia's CEC handling data on overseas electors

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 11. Georgia's Central Election Commission (CEC) has processed data on voters abroad, Trend reports.

On this account, by the CEC's reckonings, drawing from the Foreign Ministry and other pertinent sources, a whopping 95,834 people overseas have their names in the hat to cast their votes in the parliamentary elections set for October 26.

“During a meeting on September 26, the CEC designated 60 polling booths across 42 countries for 65,508 individuals eligible to vote abroad in the parliamentary elections,” the Georgian Central Election Commission said.

It is reported that seven more polling stations are in the pipeline to accommodate an extra 30,326 voters.

Georgian legislation stipulates that a polling station overseas must accommodate a minimum of 50 and a maximum of 3,000 voters registered with consulates.
