Head of State Committee Calls Azerbaijani Diaspora to Work Closely with Pro-Armenian Christian Institutions

Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr S. Ilhamgizi / The Azerbaijani diaspora should establish close contacts with pro-Armenian Christian institutions, the Chairman of the State Committee on work with Azerbaijanis Residing Abroad, Nazim Ibrahimov, urged at a press conference on 12 July.

According to Ibrahimov, very powerful Christian institutions provide assistance to Armenian diaspora and the Armenian factor is sometimes used to exert pressure on Turkey. "Within our activities a lack of work with Christian institutions is a disadvantage. Our diaspora should inform them of the truth about Azerbaijan. The results of spiritual closeness between the Armenian church and Christian institutions make Azerbaijan and Turkey suffer," Ibrahimov noted.

He added that it was necessary to work with Azerbaijanis in the world. Iranians of Azerbaijani origin reside in the United States. "They call themselves Iranians and support the shah regime which previously ruled in Iran. Iranian Jews residing in the United States state on their readiness to help Azerbaijani diaspora. For instance, an Iranian Jew residing in the California state, Isaac Nazaryan, possesses great power and thinks highly of Azerbaijan. Finally, we have found the power which will be able to withstand Armenian lobby in California," Ibrahimov stated.
