Foreign Investments in Azerbaijan Decreases by 11% in 2007

Azerbaijan, Baku, 19 January / Trend corr. I.Khalilova / Nearly AZN 6.774.8mln was invested in the economy of Azerbaijan from all financial sources by enterprises and organizations, which is 17.8% more than in 2006. The State Statistics Committee said that private companies invested AZN 3.495.9mln in the Azerbaijani economy and state-run organizations AZN 3.278.9mln.

The investments directed at repair and construction sector increased by 27.1 % to AZN 3.615.6mln. Nearly AZN 5.307.2mln (78.3 %) of investments was spent for building of industrial objects and AZN 1.467.6mln (21.7 %) in non-industrial objects.

Specific weight of foreign investments comprised 40.4 % (AZN 2.736.1mln) with a drop of 10.9 % as compared to similar period of 2006, 59.6 % (AZN 4.038.7mln) are internal investments, which increased on 50.7 % within a year.

Approximately AZN 1.613.5mln invested in the building of facilities financed through the public budget, comprising 83.7 % of the total financing, provided on this aims finances. AZN 1.928.3mln was put for the construction work in the 2007 Public Budget.

AZN 4.174.6mln (61.6 % of total investments) invested to main capital through the finances of enterprises and organizations, AZN 249mln (3.7 %) banks loans, AZN 1.718.2 mln (25.3 %) budget finances, AZN 390.9mln (5.8 %) finances of non budget funds, AZN 2.23.6mln (3.3%) personal finances of population, AZN 18.5mln (0.3%) other finances.
