Tehran, Iran, Sept. 25

Trend:

South Africa has agreed to relax visa requirements for Iranian merchants in a bid to boost investment and business opportunities between the two countries.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry and South Africa’s Interior Ministry signed an agreement whereby visa regime for Iranian businessmen will be facilitated, IRIB news agency reported on September 25.

The report added that the deal would pave the way for Iranian investors to explore business opportunities in South Africa, which is rich in natural resources.

The businessmen, according to the terms of the agreement, will be active in the fields of industries, mines, and agriculture.

South African investors and tourists will also enjoy new visa privileges in return, the report added.

Last October, Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif met with South African President Jacob Zuma in the African state's administrative capital of Pretoria.
