Azerbaijan, Baku, 28 April / Trend corr S. Aliyev/ The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) currently supplies approximately 1.2mln cu m of its own gas to Georgia, the Government reported on 28 April.
SOCAR intends to supply 1.2-1.5mln cu m of gas per day to Georgia provided some of the 500mln cu m of gas will be supplied in 2008.
The Government did not divulge the cost of the supplied gas. However, it is expected to be higher than last year. In 2007, Azerbaijan was supplying SOCAR's gas to Georgia at the price of $120 per 1,000 cu m, but this year the price is expected to be increased to $180-$190 per 1,000 cu m.
SOCAR gas is self-produced.
