In Karaganda region on the eve of the 20th anniversary of Kazakhstan's independence at the mine named after Lenin launched the first in the Karaganda coal basin pilot plant for electricity generation from methane from degassing, the press service of akim of the region told Trend. At this facility for a short time a large volume of preparatory work, laid insulated pipeline length of about 1 km and a transmission line length of 2.5 km. The project cost about 1.4 million U.S. dollars.

"Since the start of the installation is stable and produces 1.4 MW of electric power project, which comes at the mine substation group and covers up to 20% of its needs. In the future, such plants will be used in other mines of the coal department, "- said in a statement.
