Kazakhstan’s gas production ups

Kazakhstan's total production of gas amounted to 10.426 billion cubic meters (bcm) in January-March, 2012, compared to 10.184 bcm during the same period of 2011, the Kazakh Statistics Agency dispatching management told Trend.

Gas production in Kazakhstan totaled 3.507 bcm in March, 2012 compared to 3.517 bcm during the same month of last year. In March, 2012 gas production in the country decreased by 0.3 percent as compared to March, 2011 and increased by 4.4 percent compared to the previous month.

The fulfillment of the indicative plan on the gas extraction amounted to 96.1 percent in March, 2012.

Kazakhstan's domestic demand for gas amounted to 1.246 billion cubic metres last month, which is 13.2 percent less than demand in the previous month and 6.9 percent more that in March, 2011.
