The Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC), which is involved in the development of the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli fields, pumps approximately 7 million cu m of gas a day to a stratum in Azeri field, the Ministry of Industry and Energy told Trend.

By mid-2007 the volume of gas pumping to stratum will be increased to 28 million cu m a day. The pumping will be carried out from 5 wells. At present only two wells function in the field.

The associated gas which is not pumped to stratum will be delivered into the gas transport system of Azerbaijan. In total the company will deliver 2.1 billion cubic meters of associated gas to Azerbaijan this year, tough it was planned in the volume of 1.4 billion cu m.

Part of the associated gas produced from the CA and WA platforms continues to be transported via the 28 gas subsea pipeline into the Sangachal Terminal and onward via a new gas export pipeline connecting the terminals gas processing facilities and Azerigass national grid system for Azerbaijans domestic use.

During the first half of 2006 we delivered 488.5 million standard cubic meters of gas from Chirag to Azerbaijan through SOCARs gas compression station at the Oily Rocks. In addition, we delivered about 930 million standard cubic meters of gas from the Sangachal Terminal to Azerbaijan during the first half of 2006.
