Azerbaijan Commences Admission of Shah Deniz Gas to Its Transport System

Natural gas currently produced in the Shah Deniz field is pumped to the Azerbaijan transport system, but not delivered through the South Caucasus Pipeline (SCP), Trend reports. Currently gas production is carried out only from one well.

Export via the gas pipeline to Georgia and Turkey will more probably begin upon the commencement of the production from the second well.

Earlier Р'Р  Azerbaijan concluded priming the mixture to the first pre-drill well, where technical problems were observed.

In mid-February the Company intends to launch the second well on Shah Deniz Field. Presently, work over its connection and commencement of the production is in progress. Some 8.6bln cu m of gas is expected to be produced on the stage of plateau within Stage 1 of the development of Shah Deniz field. 5.4-5.6bln cu m of gas is expected to be produced from the field in 2007.
