Azerbaijani Government Share in Telecommunication JV Privatized

Azerbaijan, Baku, 18 January / corr. Trend I. Khalilova/ Limited liability company Azernet has privatized the Azerbaijani Government share worth 28% in Ultel JV (Ulduz Telekom), the State Committee on Property Management of Azerbaijan said. The amount of the deal is not disclosed.

Baku Oral Communication Production Association, which is the largest telephone communication operator in Baku City, acted as a co-founder for the Government. In accordance with experience of the Government share sale in the JV, the deal is first offered to the investor acting as a co-founder.

Azernet deals with the sale, mounting, putting into exploitation, warranty and after-warranty service of the telephone stations, transmission systems, the system of exploitation and the supplying relevant equipment as well. The equipment supplied to the Azerbaijani market is mostly purchased by Government operators such as Aztelecom PA, Baku Oral Communication PA, The Interior Ministry, and Baku Metro Station and others.

Ultel JV was founded in 1996.
