BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, September 3. New regulations for foreigners in Kyrgyzstan will come into effect starting from September 5, Trend reports.
According to a decree from the Kyrgyz government, changes have been made to the registration process for citizens of countries with visa-free access, including Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Moldova.
Under the new rules, foreigners from these countries who stay in Kyrgyzstan for more than 60 days for personal purposes—excluding work, study, or business—will need to register based on a document that permits their stay, depending on the purpose of their visit.
Previously, registration was valid for six months, with the option for extension based on the purpose of stay. Now, registration or renewal for visa-free nationals will only be processed with one of the following documents:
-Residence permit
-Stateless person’s certificate
-"Kairylman" certificate
-"Meken-kart" certificate
Citizens of EAEU member states (Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia) can stay up to 90 days within each 180-day period without additional documentation. Citizens of Tajikistan, Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Moldova can stay up to 60 days within each 120-day period without additional documentation.
