A Tajik National Guard helicopter has crashed in the east of Tajikistan, killing four people and injuring three, according to reports reaching here from Dushanbe Wednesday.
The Mi-8 helicopter went down in the morning and a rescue operation was currently underway, the reports said, Xinhua reported.
According to the Tajik Khovar news agency, technical failures may have caused the accident.
Policemen on board the helicopter were reported to be searching for insurgents who killed 28 Tajik National Guard servicemen in a military convoy attack in the region on Sept. 19.
