Saudi Health Minister Abdullah al- Rabia confirmed the second influenza A/H1N1 case in Saudi Arabia, pan-Arab al-Arabiya TV reported on Monday.
The patient is a Saudi student who has just returned from the United States after completing his study there, according to the report.
He arrived first at King Abdulaziz International Airport, north of Jeddah and then took another jetliner to the northeastern city of Dammam, the report said.
Health authorities suspected the young man has been infected with the novel flu while staying in the United States and he was later tested A/H1N1 positive, Xinhua reported.
Saudi Health Ministry called on all the passengers who came on board of the airliner from Washington to contact the medicine teams for reassurance.
Saudi Arabia confirmed its first influenza A/H1N1 case on Wednesday, a Philippine nurse of about 40 years old, who arrived in Riyadh from her annual vacation during which she has visited some Asian countries.
According to the latest update by the World Health Organization (WHO) on Friday, 21,940 cases of A/H1N1 infection have been confirmed in 69 countries, including 125 deaths.
