The Azadlig’ bloc’s attempt to hold rally in Jafar Jabbarli square on 1 October was an index not to preparations for elections, but disorders,” MP Siyavush Novruzov, the deputy executive secretary of the New Azerbaijan Party, told Trend.

According to Novruzov, the rally scheduled for 1 October by Azadlig’ bloc shows that they do not have any social base. “The leaders of the bloc hide themselves, but use 50 people to provoke disorders. This means that they do not serve to democracy, but other purposes.

The Azerbaijani nation understands it,” he added.

In his turn, MP Sabir Rustankhanli, the chairman of the Civil Solidarity Party, said that it was impossible to speak about rallies before the elections. “The Azerbaijani Nation prepares for the parliamentary elections and we must focus on this issue. There is no any need in violence,” he noted. Rustamkhanli also stressed that the attempt of the bloc served to confrontation. He recommended his colleagues to prepare for the elections.

“There is no need in rallies before the parliamentary elections. Such events cause confrontation and instability. It does not bring fame to the opposition. According to public opinion, there are enough places in the capital to hold rally. Holding of rallies in central streets aims only at confrontation,” MP Mayis Safarli, the chairman of the Yurddash Party, said.
