AZERBAIJAN, LATVIA DISCUSS EXPANSION OF CO-OP IN TRANSPORT

Ziya Mammadov, the Azerbaijani Transport Minister, and Ainars Slersers, the Latvian Transport and Communications Minister, discussed expansion of the bilateral cooperation in transport, the Transport Ministry told Trend.

The sides signed a protocol on transportation of combined cargos, development of relations in automobile, air, water and railway transport. “They also mentioned importance of opening of air flights Baku-Riga, Riga-Baku in future. The sides showed interest in expansion of cooperation and spoke about designing of documents in this regard,” the Ministry said.

Latvia may use the Azerbaijani railways, particularly, the North-South corridor, to carry out transportation of cargos from Finland to the Asian countries, Iran, India.
