Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, Oct.30 / Trend, H.Hasanov /

In a letter addressed to the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov on the occasion of the 21st anniversary of the country's independence, Israeli President Shimon Peres said that relations between the countries will invariably strengthen and develop.

'This year marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries and opening of a permanent diplomatic mission of Israel in Ashgabat and I am confident that the relationship will further invariably strengthen and develop', the letter says.

An official Israeli delegation visited Ashgabat in 2012, which held a series of meetings with the top management of the uel and energy complex of Turkmenistan and other sectorial agencies.

In due course, Israel has taken an active part in the reconstruction of a major oil refinery in Turkmenbashi in Turkmenistan.

In recent years, this plant has been reconstructed. This cost $1.6 billion which was invested by a number of banks in Europe and Asia. Contract work was carried out by Japan, Turkey, France, Germany, Israel, Iran, and other countries.
