Azerbaijan, Baku, Sept. 23 /Trend H.Valiyev/

The Aztelekom Production Association (PA) of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies has reduced the cost of international calls to all worldwide areas, the head of press service of Aztelekom Vidadi Ismayilov told Trend on Monday.

According to Ismayilov, the calls are carried out over the IP-telephony service resulting in subscribers of the public telephone network being able to make international calls at affordable tariffs.

"The cost of one minute of international calls made from Azerbaijan to all areas now costs 0.15 manat," Ismailov said.

If these calls are made to Moscow, then the dial should look like this: 0-00-7 495 XXX-XX-XX.

The first digit - 0 is the international and inter-city exit code, 00 - the exit code from the IP telephony, 7 is the code for Russia and 495 the code for Moscow, XXX- XX-XX subscriber phone number.

New tariffs for international communication services are based on the IP protocol and this has enabled the operator to significantly reduce the cost of a minute talk time.

For comparison, the cost of a minute of a talk time proposed by the operator as part of the international service ranges from 0.36 to 0.54 manat depending on the country.

For example, a minute of call to the CIS and the Baltic countries is 0.36 manat, Iran and Turkey - 0.45 manat and calls to Europe, the USA and other countries - 0.54 manat.

Under this service, subscribers will receive a 25 per cent discount on calls made between 00:00 to 08:00.

The official exchange rate for September 23 is 0.7844 AZN/USD.
