The Great Britain supports the peaceful resolution of the conflict within the frames of the OSCE Minsk group and recognizes territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijani ambassador in UK, Rafael Ibrahimov told Trend during the on-line interview with the BBC Russian service.

The UK position is strictly defined on that matter, he said. The country, which is a permanent member of the UN Security Council, has supported all 4 resolutions (882,853, 874 and 884) adopted by the organization in 1993 and also presided the adoption of one of them, the ambassador added.

London is watching over the process and supports the most rapid peaceful resolution of the conflict. UK is not an OSCE Minsk group member. The UK special envoy, Sir Bryan Fall is paying frequent visits to the region and implements the opinion exchange process on different matters including Nagorno-Karabakh problem. London has supported out territorial integrity from the very start of the conflict and continues to follow the same position, he said.

As for possible intensification of the British role in the conflict resolution problem, the ambassador noted, that Azerbaijan will welcome any peaceful initiative, especially coming from such an influential state as Great Britain.
