The U.S.'s direct and open support for Georgia cannot fail to bring positive changes to the country both in terms of political and economic development, said Georgian Prime Minister Nika Gilauri, commenting on U.S. Vice-President Joseph Biden's visit and speech in Tbilisi.

The Prime Minister believes Biden's statements in Tbilisi will be an additional impetus for investors. "This will give investors an incentive to invest more boldly in Georgia," he said.

Gilauri said he had recently met with many investors who expressed satisfaction with the existing tax system in Georgia and the low level of corruption, as well as with the country's geographical situation.

The premier believes that Biden's visit may tempt investors. He also noted that in terms of the economy, June had been better than May and July better than June.

Vice Prime Minister Temuri Yakobashvili believes that U.S. Vice-President Joseph Biden's key message was that the United States will never abandon Georgia. He said the United States is well aware that along with Georgia's success there is also misfortune.

"Georgia's success meets U.S. strategic interests. A developed economy and security are what is needed for the complete formation of a democratic state in Georgia," Yakobashvili said.
