The Nizami District Executive Power offered  the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA) the Tabriz Cinema for holding of congress, PFPA deputy chairman Nuraddin Mammadli said.

"We have already visited this theater. It has quite normal conditions for the holding of the Congress, but we negotiate on giving us other places to hold the event. The congress may not take place in the Tabriz cinema," Mammadli said.

PFPA planned to hold a congress Aug.21. The Congress has been postponed indefinitely due to the fact that a place for the event has not been defined.

"The congress will be attended by 600 - 700 people. We have prepared two lists - the primary and secondary. If we hold an event in the Tabriz cinema, we will invite 600 people, because this theater is designed for 600 seats," he said.

Participation of half of the invitees to ensure that the congress considered authoritative, Mammadli said.

"Percentage format" 50 +1" is enough to consider the congress as authorized and confirm a quorum. That is, if 351 people will attend it, the congress would be authorized," Mammadli noted.

The APFP was established in 1989. Former President Abulfaz Elchibey founded and ran the party until 2000. The party split August 2000 into the APFP and the CPFP.

Regarding the date of the congress, Mammadli said that this issue will be resolved at a meeting of the Party Board Members. "Date of the meeting of the Management Board has not yet been determined. It is expected that this meeting, which may decide the date of the congres,s will be held next week," he added.
