Azerbaijan registers observers almost from 70 countries to observe parliamentary elections

Azerbaijan has registered 859 international observers from 69 countries to observe the parliamentary elections in the country, the Central Election Commission Chairman Mazahir Panahov said at the organization’s meeting today.

Azerbaijan has registered 859 international observers from 69 countries to observe the parliamentary elections in the country, the Central Election Commission Chairman Mazahir Panahov said at the organization's meeting today.

He said in general the CEC registered 2,417 foreign and local observers to observe the elections in the country. A number of registered observers in constituencies reached 29,546 people.

Panahov said thus a number of observers in Azerbaijan reached 33,000 people.  

The parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are scheduled for November 7, 2010. Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are held by the majority system in 125 constituencies once in five years.
