Georgia's President called for continuing dialogue and official contacts between Georgia and Iran, President Mikhail Saakashvili said at a meeting in Batumi with Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki, a source at the press service of the Georgian State Head told Trend.

Georgia's President called for continuing dialogue and official contacts between Georgia and Iran, President Mikhail Saakashvili said at a meeting in Batumi with Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki, a source at the press service of the Georgian State Head told Trend.
"We support the development of legal instruments in the relations between the two countries," he stressed.
The parties discussed bilateral relations and international situation. They noted the importance of developing tourism between the two countries, as well as youth exchange program.
Saakashvili noted the importance of supporting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia by Tehran and thanked the Iranian leadership for this.
The Georgian President also noted the importance of resuming the negotiations in the 5 +1 format, which are connected with the problem of Iran's nuclear program. 5+1 format consists of five permanent U.N. Security Council members plus Germany.
However, Saakashvili expressed his concern about the anticipated death sentence against Iranian women Sakina Mohammadi Ashtiany.
