Baku, Azerbaijan, Sept. 11
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by Governor of the Sverdlovsk region of the Russian Federation Yevgeny Kuyvashev.
The successful development of bilateral relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation in various fields was emphasized, the expansion of Azerbaijan’s relations with separate regions of Russia, including with the Sverdlovsk region was hailed at the meeting.
The sides described the 85 percent growth in trade between Azerbaijan and the Sverdlovsk region as a good indicative of the strengthening of economic cooperation, pointing out the existing necessary potential for increasing trade even further. They also expressed their confidence that the business forum to be held in Baku would contribute to the expansion of ties. The steadily growing number of Russian tourists visiting Azerbaijan was emphasized, the importance of development of tourism relations with the Sverdlovsk region was also hailed at the meeting.
The sides discussed various areas of cooperation, including the implementation of joint projects in industry, and engineering, as well as collaboration in the fields of investment, culture and education.
