“Maintenance of stability in Georgia is a critically important aspect for Azerbaijan,” KAVKAZ-PRESS news agency quoted Elmar Mammadyarov, the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister, as saying in Tbilisi, Trend reports.
“Stability assumes special importance, as some project implemented by Azerbaijan runs via Georgia. These are the oil pipeline Baku-Supsa and Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan, the gas pipeline Baku-Tbilisi-Erzerum, the railway route Kars-Akhalkalaki-Tbilisi,” Mammadyarov stressed, attributing Georgia as strategically important country for Azerbaijan.
“First of all I want to note that citizens of Georgia elected Mikhael Saakashvili, a young politician as the President. He carries out reforms directed at changes in all spheres and development of economy and achieved considerable successes in many fields,” the Azerbaijani FM underlined.
