President Aliyev: No need for foreign military bases in Azerbaijan.

The placement of foreign military bases in Azerbaijan is out of discussion, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev told in an interview with the Japanese TV channel NHK, Trend reports citing AzerTAj.

We have already made several clear statements that the given question is beyond discussion. There is no need in it, emphasized the President, adding that the absence of any foreign military personnel in the territory of Azerbaijan.

At the same time the President stated that Azerbaijan is a sovereign state and can not become a place for some sort of confrontations. Policy that we are following in this context is absolutely clear. I invite partners and friends of Azerbaijan to cooperation, he said.

We should stay away from confrontations. In my view the successful development of the country largely depends on that position, the head of the state noted adding that in different situations Azerbaijan follows the correct, open and sincere relations with

the countries which are in the state of confrontation with each other.

Aliyev also added that the political and material support of USA played a vital role in the realization of Azerbaijani energetic projects. This can be seen, in particular in the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan project realization, where 70% of all works were financed via the credits. We have perfect relations with the United States. We cooperate in different areas of economy and in struggle with terrorism he said.

The President has also reminded that Azerbaijan is a member of anti-terrorist coalition, and Azerbaijani militaries together with the US army participate in different peace keeping missions around the world.

Considering the Azerbaijani-Russian cooperation, the President stated, that relations are at the highest level. We are very satisfied with the present relations and this is very important criteria not only for our bilateral relations, but also for the security in the region in general, Aliyev concluded.

The head of the state emphasized that there is no unsolved questions between Azerbaijan and Russia, giving the highest evaluation of his personal relations with the president of Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin.
