CIS Countries to Adopt Convention on legal Status of Labour Migrants and members of Their Families

Sixteen issues on different directions of the social and labour sphere, including the Draft Convention on the legal Status of Labour Migrants, including the Draft Convention in the Legal Status of Labour Migrants and Members of Their Families, Draft Action Plant on Expanding Cooperation between CIS Member-States in Solving More Serious an Urgent Social Problems, Draft Programme on Establishing and Improving the Normative Base on Labour for CIS Countries for 2004-2008 are expected to be discussed during the forthcoming 19th sitting of the Consultative Council for Labour, Migration, and the Population Social Protection of CIS Member-States is expected to be held in Moscow on December 12-13, Trend reports referring to the CIS Executive Committee

Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzia, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Russia, and Ukraine have already confirmed their participation in the event. In addition to representatives of the states, representatives of the Interparliamentary Assembly of CIS Member-States, the International Statistics Committee, and the Universal Trade Union Confederation which have the status of observers are expected to participate in the forthcoming event as well.
