Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr S. Ilhamgizi / A new regional TV channel covering north-east of Azerbaijan began broadcasting on 15 November. Opening ceremony of R-TV took place in Khachmaz region.
R-TV is the first and the only completely digital TV channel in Azerbaijan, which before the director general of the channel Rustam Aliyev said. R-TV has a transmitter capable of 1.5 MW and will cover 4 regions.
Professional stuff was selected through a contest. R-TV will broadcast 12-16 hours a day. News program (Khabarlar) will air at 11.00 am, 5.00pm and 7.30pm.
According to Rustamov, 60% of the programs will be produced at the channel.
The chairman of the Azerbaijani National TV and Radio Council Nushiravan Maharramli attended the ceremony. "The TV channel has a beautiful building, and in terms of material and technical basis, stuff potential it is the most advanced among all regional TV channels," he said.
