Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. Z.Safarov / The Azerbaijani grand masters, Shahriyar Mammadyarov and Teymur Rajabov are to participate in their fight for the world chess crown.
The decision was made due to the system of Grand Prix tournaments ratified by FIDE, Trend reported.
In compliance with the regulations of the competition the chess players who participated at the semi-final World Cup in Khanty-Mansiysk are able take part in the championship. The Grand Prix series will continue for two years and the winner has the opportunity to challenge the holder of the World Cup 2009 trophy.
