The process of reviewing complaints at the European Court will be accelerated, Veronika Kotek, the court's special envoy to Azerbaijan said today.
She added that the review process will intensify when the court's Protocol 14 comes into force.
The number of complaints received by the court has increased, Kotek said.
Each member state is responsible for the human rights situation in the country. These countries must attach significant importance to human rights protection and complaints about human rights infringements, Kotek said.
A total of 154 individuals were punished for human rights violations in Azerbaijan in 2009.
