BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 6. Azerbaijan's non-oil exports increased by 45 percent or $225.6 million from January through March 2022 (to $727.2 million) compared to the same period in 2021, Center for Economic Reforms Analysis and Communication told Trend.

According to the center, Azerbaijani exports of fruits and vegetables increased by 28.5 percent during the specified period compared to 1Q2021 - up to $124.9 million.

Azerbaijani exports of chemical products increased 10 times in 1Q2022, aluminum and products from it - by 63.9 percent, ferrous metals and products from them - by 48.7 percent, cotton yarn - by 29.3 percent, cotton fiber - by 5.6 percent compared to the same period in 2021.

Cotton yarn ranked first in Azerbaijan's non-oil exports ($72.2 million) in 1Q2022.

This is followed by carbamide ($53.2 million) and shelled hazelnuts ($39.5 million).

The largest importers of Azerbaijani non-oil products in the reporting period were Turkey ($255.2 million), Russia ($149.4 million), Georgia ($47.4 million), Switzerland ($33.3 million) and the US ($28.9 million).
