German businessmen showed great interest in investing in Azerbaijani economy, mainly in the sphere of alternative and renewable energy sources, expert of the German Society for Technical Cooperation (GTZ), Wolfgang Aigner, said during a press conference on the Azerbaijani delegation's visit to Germany.
The Azerbaijani delegation visited Germany June 20-29. The delegation consisted of 12 entrepreneurs. Members of the delegation got acquainted with the tourism potential of southern Germany, as well as experience in the tourism sector.
The organizers of the visit were GTZ Program to Support Private Sector, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economic Development, Azerbaijani Export & Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO), Azerbaijan Investment Company (AIC) and the Azerbaijan Institute of Tourism.
The main purpose of Azerbaijani businessmen's visit is to encourage small and medium entrepreneurs involved in tourism to collaborate with German colleagues, as well as the cooperation of state institutions, inform employers about the experience of German colleagues, and promote attraction of German investments in Azerbaijan, Aigner said.
Aigner said that following the visit, the agreement was reached to intensify the cooperation between entrepreneurs of both countries. German businessmen considered investments in Azerbaijan, particularly in the field of alternative and renewable energy.
