This year summer in Russia was very hot. As a result forest and peatbog fires has become more frequent in the middle zone the country, on the Volga, Far East and other regions. Nizhny Novgorod and Voronezh region are among the most affected regions. The fire approached the suburbs of many major Russian cities. About 50 people were died; more than 1,200 homes were destroyed. Area of fires exceeded 500,000 hectares.
