Baku to discuss Jordanian export to Azerbaijani market

It is planned to discuss signing of several documents, covering various areas of the economy within the expected visit of Industry and Trade Minister of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Hani El-Mulki to Baku in April.

"The documents will cover energy, mineral resources, investment, agriculture, cooperation in the field of veterinary medicine, as well as mutual assistance in customs," he said in an interview with Trend. Intensifying the cooperation agreement on the mutual recognition of certificates, signed between Azerbaijan and Jordan is envisaged. All these documents are under discussion."

It is also planned to discuss the ways to develop and diversify Jordanian exports to the Azerbaijani market, especially products with high export function, such as: Dead Sea products, spices, clothing, engineering goods, chemicals, agricultural pesticides.

"We plan to discuss determining the investment opportunities of Azerbaijan in Jordan and to exchange views on priority areas, including agriculture, industry, tourism and others," he said.

The information on investment projects was shared. The investment laws and regulations relevant to the sphere were discussed. The private sectors in both countries were informed."

He said that the possibility of establishing a joint shipping company, which will deal with the supply of goods between the two countries will be discussed.

A representative delegation headed by Hani El-Mulki will arrive in Baku in April. The purpose of the visit is to participate in the second session of the Azerbaijan-Jordan Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation on April 11-12.
