Azerbaijan, Baku, Oct. 18 / Trend , A.Agayeva /

Serbia plans to develop its economic ties with Azerbaijan, Serbian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Zoran Vayovich told Trend.

"The prospects for Serbia-Azerbaijan cooperation will be discussed at the first session of the intergovernmental commission on trade-economic cooperation and business forum in Belgrade on Nov. 3-4," Vayovich said.

The sides reached such an agreement during a Baku visit by Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic, who is also a co-chair of the intergovernmental commission, he said.

During these events, there will be signed an agreement on trade-economic cooperation and a number of contracts between private entrepreneurs who are interested in business development. Vayovich believes.

"Serbia is interested in attracting the Azerbaijani investments o and the Azerbaijani side has also expressed interest in participating in infrastructure projects in Serbia. I think the first meeting of Azerbaijani-Serbian inter-governmental commission is an important step to further strengthen the economic cooperation," he noted.

During a visit to Belgrade, an Azerbaijani state delegation will be headed by Economic Development Minister Shahin Mustafayev, who co-chairs of the intergovernmental commission.

Foreign trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Serbia for January-September 2011 totaled 1.41 million.
