Investment of Turkey in the economy of other countries reached $25 billion in the period from 2001 to 2011. Some 3,641 Turkish businessmen invested in 109 countries, the Confederation of Businessmen and Industrialists of Turkey said on Tuesday.
The Netherlands ranks first among the countries in which Turkey has invested. Some 165 Turkish businessmen have invested $5.3 billion in the Netherlands. Azerbaijan ranks second in terms of investment. Turkey has invested $3.8 billion in Azerbaijan. Turkey has invested $2.5 billion in Kazakhstan and $1.5 billion in Egypt.
Least of all Turkey has invested in Colombia - $10,000, Sri Lanka - $30,000, and Norway - $42, 000.
The largest volume of investments in this period falls to the energy sector - $4 billion, the banking sector - $3 billion, the processing industry - $2.5 billion.
