In January-September 2018, Azerbaijan exported goods totaling $14.28 billion, which is 75.28 percent more than in the first nine months of the last year, the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee said.
The share of the public sector in exports amounted to $10.25 billion (71.78 percent), the private sector - $3.96 billion (27.73 percent), individuals - $57.9 million. The share of the private sector in exports for the year decreased from 18.45 to 10.53 percent.
During the reporting period of 2018, Azerbaijan exported most of all oil and oil products, natural gas, aluminum, plastic and products from it, fruits, and vegetables.

During the reporting period, imports amounted to $7.91 billion, which is 28 percent more than in January-September 2017. The share of the public sector in import operations amounted to $1.61 billion, private - $5.85 billion, individuals - $442.4 million.
The most popular goods imported by Azerbaijan during the reporting period were various machines and mechanisms, ferrous metals and products from them, vehicles and spare parts for them, plastic and products from it and wood and products from it.

In general, in the first nine months of 2018, Azerbaijan’s foreign trade operations increased by almost 54.87 percent compared to the same period in 2017, reaching $22.18 billion. The positive balance in the reporting period amounted to more than $6 billion, which is more than threefold as much as in January-September 2017 ($1.97 billion).
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan exported 2,753 types of goods, imported 7,236 types of goods. As many as 176 countries have become foreign trade partners of Azerbaijan. During the reporting period, a total of 17,305 legal entities and individuals participated in foreign economic activity (6,258 legal entities and 11,047 individuals).
