Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic are working on a joint project in the field of machine engineering, Azerbaijani Deputy Economy Minister Rufat Mammadov told Trend May 17.
He said that at this stage, the parties are actively negotiating, and the details of the project are being clarified.
Without revealing the details, the deputy minister said that this is a joint project of private entrepreneurs of the Czech Republic and Azerbaijan. “It envisages creation of joint ventures, the assembly of industrial equipment and other initiatives,” Mammadov said.
He added that discussions on the project should be completed soon, after which practical work on its implementation will begin.
The deputy minister noted that this is one of the landmark projects, since the Czech Republic specializes in machine engineering and it is one of the advanced countries in this field, both in Europe and in the world. “At the same time, the Czech Republic is a major supplier in the industry sphere,” he said. “For Azerbaijan, this area is of great interest, so we intend to actively work with Czech partners in this field.”
He added that the parties are also considering the implementation of projects in the field of tourism.
“The Czech Republic and Azerbaijan are very interesting destinations for tourists,” he said. “We want to attract more Czech tourists to Azerbaijan. The Czech Republic is also interested in attracting Azerbaijani tourists. There are plans to implement joint projects in the field of tourism. With this purpose, our travel companies and agencies are actively cooperating with Czech colleagues, so there is high probability that we will see positive results in this area.”
