Minister: In Commercial Terms Odessa-Brody-Plotsk Does Not Differ from Other Pipeline Projects

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr A. Badalova / In commercial account the Odessa-Brody-Plotsk oil pipeline will not differ from other pipeline projects in the region, Polish Economic Minster Peter Voznyak said at a press conference in Baku on 7 November.

"A peculiarity of the project is that it involves 5 countries - Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine, Poland, and Lithuania, although the pipeline will not go to Lithuania," he said.

According to Voznyak, the project is not a closed one for other countries. "We rely on our Kazakh partners in this issues, who whom this project is also open," he said.

As for functioning of Sarmatia JV, which was established for implementation of Odessa-Brody-Plotsk, the Minister said the 5 member countries have to submit all notarial documents by 24 November. Lithuania's share in the project is minimal - 1%. Remaining 4 partners will have equal shares.

Sarmatia included Lithuanian AB Klaipedos Nafta, Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation (GOGC) and the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR).
