Azerbaijan, Baku / / Trend / The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) started construction of the new deep-sea platform Umid-1, a source stated from SOCAR. The construction is implemented in the Baku plant of deep-sea unit after the name of Heydar Aliyev.
The new platform will be installed on 15kl far from the Bula Daniz field on the prospectus gas-condensate Umid. The depth of water is 60m.
According to the SOCAR president Rovnag Abdulayev, the construction of the new platform will be completed in September 2008. Drilling of the first prospect well will be launched in December. The depth of the well will make up 6,500m.
