The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) will complete cleaning of Oil Rocks oil and gas production unit seabed section from metal constructions soon, the SOCAR said.
The seabed is being cleaned on Oil Rocks and Muddy Volcano fields.
Hydroengineering constructions which were in emergency situation began to be dismantled in March 2009.
Oil Rocks seabed section is being cleaned by SOCAR-ASM with the help of Caspian Sea Oil Fleet owned by the SOCAR.
About 260 tons of metal constructions have been dismantled so far. Crane ship will arrive the site to speed up the work. Sonar work will be carried out in the fields to confirm cleaning of the seabed from metal constructions.
The seabed is cleaned under the Plan of Complex Work to Improve Azerbaijan's Ecological Situation for 2006-2010.
