Kyrgyzstan and China decided to hasten construction of the gas pipeline from Turkmenistan, Kyrgyz Economy and Antimonopoly Policy Minister Temir Sariev told KyrTAG on Thursday.
"At the yesterday meeting in Beijing, Kyrgyz-Chinese intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation decided to hasten the project on construction of pipeline from Kyrgyzstan to China," Sariev said.
According to the minister, the pipeline's possible route through Kyrgyzstan will be studied in near future.
"Most likely, it will go through the country's southern regions," Sariev said.
Due to this pipeline, Kyrgyzstan will have Turkmen gas at discounted price, the minister said.
