Turkey launches own production of power plant equipment

A plant will be built for the production of equipment for the construction of power plants for the first time in Turkey, the Sabah newspaper reported on Thursday.

To this end, Turkish company Hattat Enerji and China's Harbin Electric signed an agreement on worth $250 million yesterday. The share between the companies will be distributed on a 50-50 basis.

The plant will produce component parts (boilers, turbines, generators, etc.) for hydropower plants, nuclear power plants and wind power plants.

Construction of the plant is scheduled to be completed within 24 months. It will be located in an area of 60,000 square metres.
