Preparations for autumn-winter underway in Uzbekistan's Karakalpakstan

In the autumn-winter period of 2020-2021, consumers of Karakalpakstan Republic (Uzbekistan) will be supplied with 1,680 million cubic meters of natural gas, which is 34 million cubic meters or 2.1 percent more than last season, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Energy.

The special headquarters of the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan visited the Karakalpakstan Republic to analyze the readiness to provide consumers with electricity, natural and liquefied gas, coal products in the autumn-winter period of 2020-2021.

In particular, the members of the Special Staff visited the Kungrad compressor station. Appropriate preparations are underway for the upcoming cold season, taking into account the fact that the station is servicing equipment for gas drying, located on an area of ​​one hectare.

Also, the work of the shop is provided by about 500 km of main gas pipelines of various lengths. Today 270 people work at Kungrad compressor station.

The working group also got acquainted with the state of affairs in the Kungrad Department of Process Water Supply. Its task is to provide technical water to large enterprises of the northern region, which include the main gas pipelines Akchalak, Tulei, Karakalpak, Kungrad soda plant, Ustyurt gas, and chemical complex.

The total number of natural gas consumers in Karakalpakstan is 252,093 people, of which 5,861 are legal entities and 246,232 are physical consumers (households).
To provide consumers with natural gas in the Karakalpakstan Republic, 8,911 km of gas pipelines and 5,141 gas distribution points are used.

To date, gas pipelines with a total length of 2.5 km have been reconstructed, 5,141 gas distribution points have been inspected.

From October 1, 2020, to improve the gas supply to consumers, 17 teams will work, which will include 68 specialists and 17 additional units of special equipment.
